S**T I"VE SEEN WORKING IN MINOR LEAGUE BALL

I think that people who have never worked in MiLB, doesn't truly understand the struggle it is. It isn't like any other job.

There is no cap on hours you work per week. I once worked for 25 hours and my boss was kind enough (sarcasm) to let me go home for four and a half hours to take a nap and shower, before coming back to work the next game. That was the end of a 100+ work week.

You dont get paid hourly. My salary was $23,000, plus commission. My commission was 6%, and they taxed it as a bonus so I was basically making a couple dollars, if that on anything I sold.

Sexism is a problem. Guys in the office made horrible comments about me and when my boss overheard, he went to HR for me. HR and the GM didn't take it seriously, told the guys that made the comment what we told them, and I was basically outcasted by my coworkers.

There was a lot of fun times working in MiLB, but there's a lot that goes on that wouldn't surprise me if it was labeled as illegal activity. Working people to the bone for basically nothing (I couldn't even afford a one bedroom apartment on my salary) shouldn't be legal. Baseball is just lucky for the influx of college graduates trying to break into the industry. From what I noticed though, the quality of workers is going down hill (at least in my club). It'll be interesting to see how MiLB will develop from this.
