The real question is it right and that's what this sub is about. He's not some tragic-lovelorn hero. Snape apologists think James' treatment of Snape pushed him into doing horrible things (calling Lily Mudblood, becoming a DE). And even then, Snape wasn't a helpless fluffy bunny. However, Snape's treatment of Neville isn't a big deal, according to your original comment. Probably not, because Neville has thicker skin and doesn't make excuses for his choices. Just because Neville turned out alright doesn't make it okay for Snape to have bullied kids who had no way of fighting back.
