If Elliot is going to actually try and seriously state unequivocably to Olivia that he wants to try with her, and she would actually entertain the possibility - then yeah, running around having random hook ups would be a slap in the face to both her and fans.

I guess you're talking about how shippers get all upset when the couples they like hook up with other people. I don't really care if it's not done to purposely stir shit, and it makes sense within the story.

I nearly got off the Bensler bus with the letter stuff because I thought it was a godawful thing for Elliot to have done - to hand her that thing and lie to her face that he wrote it. I am surprised more people weren't bothered by that. But this, nah. This is par for the course. To me the letter was far worse, this is just Elliot being messed up and not being able to turn down a woman coming onto him. In the circumstances of all that's gone on, it makes sense.

I wouldn't want Olivia to find out about it though, I feel like she has enough to deal with.
