Saddened by Inability to Fast - Wondering if Orthodoxy or Catholicism would Say I'm Damned?

Lent has already begun in the Latin rite, while in the East it begins soon but not yet (March 3 I think). I'm currently attending an Anglican church, but honestly I have been drawn to pre-1517 Christianity - not just another flavor of Protestantism, but the Church Jesus established.

There's just one problem: both of them require fasting, with Catholicism going so far as to say you're going to Hell if you don't fast on Fridays during Lent but know you should...

I currently live with my parents, and we eat meat almost every day - including Wednesdays and Fridays. They believe a profession of faith in Jesus is enough to save you, then sanctification begins. I understand theosis is not like this. Fasting would be seen as legalism, a work added onto the finished work of Christ.

This has made me depressed. I want to be able to fast someday, but I can't right now since (1) I don't cook my own food (2) I'm expected to eat whatever Mom makes.

Due to the weak economy in my region and the need for me to stay at home for a few more years (until I have saved enough to move out) I'm likely to be at home and eating meat, unable to convert to Orthodoxy or Catholicism or even set up anything my parents would reasonably accept as un-legalistic.

I want to contact a priest, but since I've put so much time and effort into this Anglican church (despite being on an unsafe side of town), I don't know what to do. I feel like I'm committing adultery or cheating on a girlfriend even reaching out to other churches.

Thanks and God bless.
