Was this your M&G with him, or had you met him before? There is a split in the bowl as to whether or not an SD should pay the POT SB for the M&G (and not just dinner, drinks, coffee etc...). I am of the opinion that at most the POT SD should provide a small gift if the M&G went really well, but otherwise the purpose of the M&G is to see if there is a connection or not. Taking away the monetary aspect of the date also benefits POT SBs, so they don't feel like they have to be with a POT SD, even if there is no chemistry. Also, so the SD doesn't feel entitled in some way.

But if you weren't feeling this guy, then that is your prerogative. You should do what you feel comfortable with. However, what he did wasn't necessarily a scam (besides the fake pics), unless this wasn't the first M&G - then maybe.
