Sam Darnold: “It’s hard to throw the ball when you’re on the ground.”

Maybe. Maybe not. He's not the near-unanimous #1 pick that the media informally anointed him after that Penn St game last year. The widespread perception that he's "not ready to start in the NFL" could mean that declaring this year results in either 1) going early-to-mid 1st rd and sitting for a year, or 2) going early 1st rd to a shaky team, starting before he's ready, and getting Kizer'ed. I'd personally rather spend another year kickin it with SoCal coeds and cement my chances of going higher in the draft (and starting), but to each their own. I almost get the sense that Darnold lost the rock/paper/scissors faceoff with Rosen and thats why the Darnold-might-stay-Rosen-will-declare narrative has flipped.
