San Francisco's New DA is a Career Public Defender -- thoughts?

For me, a career criminal is one who has no legitimate means of income and has made no good faith effort to pursue one. These folks have serious co-morbid factors that are unlikely to be resolved by therapy.

I am not blind to systemic injustice, but I’m also not of the opinion that it can be solved with a laissez-faire attitude toward law and order.

I read part of someone’s reply that said something about victims-rights being bullshit. Apparently, the irony of restorative justice being born out of this idea that criminals are themselves victims of habitual abuse by their environment and their government is completely lost on that Redditor.
