Sounds like Monster and 1-2 French dudes made it thru yesterday or the day before? Haven’t heard anything else though, or heard how it went.

In general, no one is in CO right now. A buddy just flipped from Monarch because there’s only 3-4 other people up ahead and he wanted to see more people.

Having just done Chama to Pagosa, Id definitely evaluate the next section if I were you. 6 days to do this section is really slow, and from looking at the topos up ahead, there looks to be plenty of sketchy Traverse work like from Bonito Pass to Wolf Creek.

I’m considering the Creede vs CDT, but to me, the risk of falling, avalanches, or slides like what was on Bonito/mile 851/Silver Pass does not seem very worth it to me. If all the days were going to be like going thru Summit or Montezuma Peak, I’d be incredibly down, but I don’t think it will be.

Talking to a buddy, the Creede is still beautiful and a bit tough perhaps. Looks like there’s plenty of snow above 11.5K still. Leaning towards that myself, especially considering how nothing freezes overnight anymore and how much steep snow is still sitting on the slopes.

Good luck if you do go! I know 1 or 2 other people in Pagosa who want to do it.
