Sanders’ Speech Explains His Vision of Socialism—It Sounds a Lot like New Deal Liberalism

Bernie was my gateway to more radical thought. He has his issues, and using FDR is pure politics. It's meant to remind Americans that social programs and ideas that are considered radical are indeed part of their history.

It's not Socialism, but if anything it's a strategic step forward which will actually have people consider actual socialist ideas afterwards.

The problem though, as Richard Wolff has pointed out, it's still capitalism. Some forces may be pushing for socialism but capitalists will push in the opposite direction, and as a result the reforms that we worked so hard for will be done away with. The old reform vs revolution debate.
