Most of the Chetnik bands originating from Macedonia all had last names ending in -ić. Sokolović, Krstić, Stojković, Ristić. Also a lot of the population celebrated Slava, considered Marko Kraljević as their national epic hero, etc.

Also, do you even realize how the Chetnik organization started? Macedonians who identified as Serbs were joining VMRO/IMRO at first, but then the Bugaraš Macedonians started taking out Serb elders and leaders, Serb priests and teachers. Also led whole troops of IMRO Serbs into ambushes, just to trim their numbers. So the Chetnik organization was formed to protect Serb identity and interests from Bulgarians in Macedonia
