Saturday night Drunk Thread

Weidman was either (A) legit hurt/concussed or (B) gassed and thought that the knees to his head were illegal. Ref ruled that the knees were illegal (and in the ref's defense, it was a damn close call in real time). So Weidman gets 5 minute recovery period.

Weidman was then questioned by NYSAC docs at that time where Weidman either acted like he was concussed/hurt or was truly/concussed hurt.

NYSAC docs then ruled him unable to continue. So one way or the other, the fight is over.

But we still need to determine the outcome of the fight. If knees were illegal, then no contest. If knees were legal, then Weidman loss by TKO. Knees were found to be legal.

Weidman is then informed (by now, a few minutes later) that knees were found to be legal and he has come to his senses. But again, NYSAC docs have already ruled him unable to continue.

So final decision is Weidman loss by TKO.

Separate issue is whether the use of instant replay should be available. They threw up multiple angles on jumbotron right away.

If replay shouldn't have been used, then we go with ref's call in the ring where it should end as a no contest.

But one way or the other, Weidman didn't pass NYSAC doc tests after being legit hurt by legal knees (and thus, loss by TKO was right call) or Weidman was gassed and (incorrectly) thought that knees were illegal.
