I never said you are going to be indifferent about your future patients. Are there wonderful doctors out there? Absolutely. But the vast majority of doctors/medical students I've ever met are extremely smug and arrogant with no extraordinary skills to show for it. You are still a student, there is no way you could know if it's better for a patient to do their own research about their condition and that's kind of my point. Don't treat people like bumbling idiots who can't possibly be right. Just look at this thread. There are thousands of stories about people being misdiagnosed only to find an actual solution to their disease because they kept researching on google.
