I've heard that depending on how dark you are some of the men think your a foreign prostitute wtf.

I'm mixed black/white, so not that dark. I was once walking through the part of town known for prostitution with my (white) boyfriend, just on our way to somewhere else. We definitely got looks that seemed to say "oh, he's already found someone". It was pretty fucked up. And depressing to see how many women were out working the streets, the majority of whom were WOC.

But besides that incident, I've also had guys hit on me by trying to seem "worldly" or "cultured" for wanting to be with someone ~exotic~, not realising that being fetishised for your skin colour is NOT a compliment. Spoiler alert, "I've never had any dark meat before" did not make my panties drop.

Drunk guys can be pigs, but in general, they will leave you alone if you tell them to fuck off.

I've personally never felt unsafe being out and about by myself, even while super drunk at butt o'clock in the morning. Annoyed and irritated, sure, but never, ever unsafe.
