Its insane that a lot of people in this sub have probably never played football and act like they know what it is like, especially at a pro level. These guys are playing at a million miles per hour.
Its pretty clear that Barnett throws his shoulder in from 3 feet away, and Williams unfortunately moved backwards with his head down low. If that wasnt leading with your shoulder, idk what is. What most people dont seem to understand is that your shoulder is less than a foot away from your head, especially when wearing a helmet. Some helmet to helment is gonna happen when guys try to get a shoulder in to finish a play. Its football defense 101. One guy wraps, one guy hits.
Was it a late hit? Just a bit. But it was clearly not targeting, barnett was giving himself up right at the whistle. It was an accident. Shit happens. Every player in the nfl makes that hit, regardless of how many people are wrapping him up. It was an accident, and Barnett clearly felt bad about it.
