[Schefter] My apooigies to anyone who was offended. Was caught up in the moment of the NFL Draft and forgot about the WNBA Draft from last Friday night. Sorry.

I do know people that work in various aspects with the league and they work just as hard and are as passionate about it as any job.

I don't doubt that at all, in fact I'd say most of them are working twice as hard specifically because the WNBA is constantly compared to the big professional leagues, as a subtle way of dismissing it. The fact of the matter is it doesn't matter if the WNBA is operating at a loss or if they're the most profitable entity on the continent. The true value of it cant be quantified because it's true value is the inspiration and sense of belonging that any young female athlete feels when they watch a game or meet a player that they love. You would think that men who love sports would recognize and appreciate how much enjoyment they get from watching men compete in sports, and therefore want young women to have that available to them as well. It's not like the existence of the WNBA or any female sport somehow compromises the integrity or the value of mens leagues. Furthermore, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the hypocrisy of the people who endlessly praised Kobe Bryant for teaching his daughter the sport of basketball and taking her to WNBA games, only to then turn around 3 months later to criticize it, and question it's existence. Anyway, I completely understand what you said and its unfortunate that your articulate and factual comment was downvoted just because you can recognize the cultural value of something that's not hurting anyone.
