You shouldn’t direct anyone to “look at Kroenke through his whole St. Louis phase” to support the point you’re trying to make. For all of his short comings in St. Louis, spending money wasn’t one of them.

He spent big money in free agency (Jake Long and Jared Cook come to mind) and it’s hard to believe it now, but he actually ended up in a bidding war with the Dolphins to lure Jeff Fisher to St. Louis.

The general sentiment among his more knowledgeable haters is that he intentionally spent money on the wrong players to tank the team so St. Louis would lose interest. Even his biggest haters can’t deny he spent money in St. Louis though.
