Germans were warned against energy and economic ties to Russia. What did they do? Double down and allow yet another pipeline, Nordstream-2. They were warned that by relying so heavily in Russian energy they were leaving themselves and Europe vulnerable.

What did they do? Phase out many nuclear plants and decommission coal extraction operations becoming even more dependent on Russian energy. They keep showing they are not willing to cut ties with Russia. Even now there are still many German firms still operating within Russia. It's pissing off their allies and delighting Putin.
