Why is science denial so prominent among Christians?

With a name like that you're just here to troll, and I'm gathering you already know the answer. But just in case:

  1. A fundamentalist view on the Bible, particularly the creation story, requires the denial of multiple scientific consensuses, such as the age of the earth and evolution.

  2. The marriage of Christian fundamentalism with political conservatism means that they automatically adopt many of the planks of their platforms that don't necessarily have a clear throughline to scripture, e.g. climate change denialism. A more benign reading would be that people with those political views are naturally suspicious of large-scale government intervention, like the type required to combat climate change.

  3. The conservative Christian viewpoint is naturally suspicious, which leads to a susceptibility to conspiracy theories, hence anti-vax, flat earth, etc.
