Scientists reveal distribution of dark matter around galaxies 12 billion years ago–further back in time than ever before

honestly, you sound you have no actual contact with the research community. incredibly disconnected, solely experiencing it through superficial reading and social media.

“you are not buying it” because it is literally out of your grasp. you don’t know the math with any rigor. why should we care what you think?

do you think dark energy sounds any less realistic than say … the Higgs mechanism? a field permeating all of space, whose value in a vacuum is always nonzero, breaking electroweak symmetry and thus giving mass to nearly every particle you can think of?

it’s implied by the data. so is the dark matter model. your intuition is meaningless.
