Scouse street traders The Deli food stall told to fork out £6k to keep Pier Head spot for Eurovision

I understand there's a lot of emotion in this sort of thing because it's a well respected local business. No one (myself included) wants to see them put through hardship.

I dont know the finances of their business so I'll always sit on the side of sympathy, but it's not to say a spot becoming more valuable based on ultra-peak times isn't unprecedented, or even totally unfair.

Some businesses in a peak time like this would offer a reduced menu for a reasonable mark up. This would help reduce their overheads and prep time on supplies (especially buying in bulk) and enable them to serve probably triple the customers and recoup that increased cost for the space.
