In a sea of negativity, there is still one thing that we can appreciate about medicine.

During my gap years, I worked in biotech/pharma industry. I was 2 yrs out of undergrad and my job interviews consisted of 3-4 rounds (1 phone with in house recruiter/HR, 1 video call with hiring manager, 1-2 panel interviews.

I had just a bachelors with 2 yrs work exp and I was already being interviewed by a FULL panel of senior PhDs at a minimum of sr scientist level. There were multiple directors of diff departments and 1 VP. And this pattern was consistent across multiple companies I was applying/got interviews for. Like bro?? I'm just a lowly foot soldier here, what's all this??

It was nerve wracking and I was tired of having to constantly prove that I have a good personality, that I will bring value to the company and that I am someone they want.

"Why our company?"

I'm just shooting my shot breh "Why are you interested in x field therapy?" Never heard of it in my life before tbh but I just want a job lmao "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" Hopefully not on the streets cause y'all decided not to hire my ass

Was tired of it. Just wanted my degree to speak for itself. IDC if I have to front load the work. Better to sacrifice my 20s so I can have a smooth rest of my life.
