I wonder if there's a legit explanation for how I feel about this type of game and if it's a mutual feeling among other people? and if so, won't it hurt a brand's image by association?
I associate Sea of Thieves with Twitch. It was closed and only a few top streamers could play it and wear their pirate hats and hype the game up. I couldn't play it.
It was a "only watch" game. A Twitch game to play with a squad of other streamers.
I was not part of their demographic and no use to them during the hype phase.
Now, hype is gone. Streamers can't be bothered. It has like 100 viewers.
The Twitch/Hype honeymoon phase in which I was excluded because I'm just a normal person is now over.
So now I'm suppose to buy this game, or like it, or support it? I have absolutely zero interest in it, and I don't see it ever making some type of 'come-back' or top of the charts.
Anyway.. this is what I think whenever I see "Sea of Thieves" in my mind, nothing else. Many other new games follow the same path and fall in the same "meh.." mindset to me.
