I don't think AD makes the 1st team, although I would like him to. The NBA has stayed strict on making sure a Center is on the 1st team. I wanted AD to take 1st team Center last season, but alas we got a DeAndre 1st team selection with 39 votes/100+ votes.
I don't think the NBA will overlook KAT putting up 25-12. He'll probably get a nod. Gobert's only claim over these guys is defense. Marc's a great defender, while DMC and KAT are average. But the gap on offense between Gobert and those two, is far greater than the gap on defense. So Marc gets the 3rd nod. Don't get it twisted, Gobert is the reason Utah made the leap. He's def DPoTY IMO.
My team predictions are:
1st: Westbrook - Harden - LeBron - Leonard - KAT
2nd: Curry - John Wall - KD - AD - DMC
3rd: Isaiah Thomas - Chris Paul - Giannis - Jimmy B - Marc Gasol
All Defensive predictions:
1st: Avery Bradley - Chris Paul - Draymond - Kawhi - Gobert
2nd: Patrick Beverley - Tony Allen - Jimmy B - AD - DeAndre
I'd prefer if KD make the 1st team as he's the best player on the best team. But I'm good with Kawhi taking it. DMC might fall to the 3rd team as his old team was atrocious with him there. But it hasn't stopped him making the 2nd team before (15 and 16.)
I just don't see DeMar getting in over the guys in his own conference as they all have higher seeded teams and are putting up numbers around his level or greater. There's still Kyrie/Lowry/Lillard/Klay.
We might see Rubio make an appearance on the All Defense 2nd team as his recent play and reputation might sway voters. 1st team is locked up. There's zero chance PG13 makes any team, All-NBA and All-D. LeBron won't make either All-D team either. KD this year has been a beast on defense. It would be nice to see him get a nod on the 2nd team as well.
