Seattle EMTs vote to strike without pay increase

I have genuinely seen patients suffer because the fire department waits for AMR to pick up patients. You want to protect jobs over people's lives, that is a pretty shit priority. Bellevue and Shoreline have a great fire department because they transport patients instead of making patients wait 10-20 mins for AMR to show up, so they can transfer care.

Those ambulance operators don't get good benefits, hours, BREAKS (as an EMT I got fuck all breaks for my 12 hour shift, I kid you not I got denied a lunch break even though calls were not an emergency, but just a hospital to hospital transfer) and the pay is shit. I got like a dollar raise every two years. The pay is god awful and the sick hours...was 72 hours per calendar year. So you don't know what the fuck your talking about.
