Seattle mayor 'willing to risk losing every penny' over 'sanctuary' status

He's not saying Trump's presidency is illegitimate, he's bringing up the fact that half the country didn't vote because people hated Hillary more than they hated Trump. Trump won, but he won 18% of the population, not literally half the country. It's like when you're throwing a four year long party and your buddies have to order a pizza, so you ask your party whether they prefer garlic anchovy or hawaiian pizza. Half the group is disgusted by both options, so they don't vote. Since only half the table chooses, that half is split between garlic anchovy and hawaiian. Say, 18% of half the group decides to go garlic anchovy, even though it's the only thing you can eat for four years. So even though 82% of the people opposed garlic anchovies, we're ordering garlic anchovy pizza anyway. It's the only thing you can eat, and everyone has to eat. And once the pizza actually gets to the house, even some of the 18% who wanted Garlic Anchovy start to have second thoughts because they didn't know it would smell so fuckin bad.
