A ridiculous statement. We have seen many many people literally lose their life denied surgery due to not being vaccinated by choice. We have seen people mere weeks away from full on golfing in sunny weather retirement squashing all of it because they don't want the vaccine. These people don't have the vaccine, and they will vehemently fight for not getting it, even if they become homeless and lose everything. The objectionable fact is, having police benefits society and help people who are in need during distress or victimisation, generally speaking. 1-2hr return times for whatever call is not acceptable, specifically in a world class leading city such as Seattle. There will absolutely be short term pain. And it's you and I, who are vaccinated who unfortunately need to call the police, that will feel it.

I don't disagree with the sentiment about the long term benefit, but there being no repercussions of having a decimated police force while it already had an incredibly low police count with exceedingly long arrival times is ludicrous.
