"The secret to doing anything is..." Worldly wisdom from bob ross [Image]

First step is to observe yourself when you start to feel those emotions; when you start to feel negative emotions creeping in, realize that emotions don't need to control you and instead take note of how those feelings affect you. For example, if someone cuts you off in traffic, instead of letting rage control you, notice that your heart rate goes up and your breathing gets shallow or whatever. Then when it happens the next time you can stop and notice your heart rate and breathing are different, and realize this is just an automatic reaction you're having. Now that you know you're default in the situation is to go on autopilot mode with your rage and you know the signs of this happening, you can start to take back control of your reaction when you notice autopilot kicking in. Then you have the ability to actually figure out what is really bothering you. Why does someone else's success bother you? Are you insecure with your own accomplishments? After you have a clear understanding of the problem the way to deal with it be more apparent.
