Security guards of Reddit, what is the weirdest thing you've seen through a surveillance camera?

Former security guard, I never saw anything particularly scandalous on the security cameras but I did see something kind of creepy once. I didn't usually work the overnight shift but we had someone call out and no one would come in so I got called and I went in because I'd basically be doing over time the entire time. Time and a half hell yes. And I knew that the overnight shift was cake, I could basically take a book or my DS or something and just keep myself entertained all night.

I worked at the local state power company building, which was pretty old. And I'd heard people talk about how the very top floor, which was basically just building generators and stuff, was haunted. Yeah okay, whatever. I never saw anything, never got any weird vibes, nothing.

Well that night I worked the overnight shift I'm sitting in the office where all the monitors are watching Netflix on my phone and I see a bit of movement out of the corner of my eye. It's the camera that's up in the generator room and there's a little gray cat just sitting there. I'm like wtf that's weird how did it get in there because you had to have an electric card key to open the door onto that floor and they had the same kind of security and locking mechanism for the door leading out onto the roof.

I start to get up to go up to the attic to try and catch the cat but just as I move it looked right at the camera. It moved its head just right to get the eyeshines going from the light so I've got this cat that shouldn't be there staring at me through a monitor with lazer eyes going on. I stopped, and it just stared at the camera and then when I went to move again, it took off into the shadows.

I didn't go up there until my relief showed up and I made him go up there with me, we didn't find the cat and we didn't find any way for it to get in there either. We told our boss and the guy who worked for the power company that was kind of our liaison. They put a trap up there with some food and water in it but never caught it and I never saw it again the cameras, and I was never very happy about having to go in there again tbh.
