Seeking some comfort, not sure where to turn...

That's not what it's about, though. You look at the horrible things happening in huge groups of people everywhere on Earth and I ask, what are YOU doing for them? Do you hold God to a standard to justify Himself as being good, then fail to do it yourself? If it's so horrible, surely you are doing something about it yourself, and not just sitting back, knowing full well how horrible it is, and blaming God for not being there, and using that as a reason to not believe in God.

What you need to learn, and understand, is that WE are Gods hands and feet on Earth. This is the VERY reason we are called to love everyone. We are called to love God, and SHARE His love with others. When you see a homeless man on the street, needing food and money, do you think "Where is God for him?" or do you go and feed him, and give him some money? This is why the relationship between us and God needs to be strong. He calls us, and He puts things on our hearts, and we ACT on them. God has done it many times with me. But being able to hear Him, and understand His heart, comes with relationship. We come to God for love, and strength, and then we take that to others around us.

The way I see it, all the suffering in the World, all the problems and issues, are NOT from God not being there, or real. It's a reflection of the lack of love in the World. And don't get me wrong, there are thousands of people who donate time, blood, sweat and tears helping people in need. But in my opinion, it is just a reflection on how we, as Christians, fail to do what we are called to do. Help, and love. I believe in my heart that God is an all-loving God who wants nothing more than to see no one suffer. However, WE are His disciples on Earth. We are to go to the troubled people, the outcasts, the poor, the hurt and abused, and show them love. Unconditionally.
