This seems like a problem.

I get the point man, people think cops are under trained for their level of power and authority. The thing is you can't teach people awareness, respect, empathy, and being community minded. Traits you need to be a good cop. You give the worst examples cops are allowed to lawfully do but what about community meetings to improve overall safety or school resource officers providing kids a safe environment? I don't see electricians at those. All I'm saying is it's vastly different the duties an electrician has vs a cop and how they are trained. You can teach anyone to be a good electrician cause those are moving parts, you know what's wrong and how to fix it. Cops learn through training and experience how to deal with a situation that can be familiar but also foreign at the same time, there's no guide book on how deal with every situation.

Again though I get it and I agree more training requirements are always a good thing.
