Your ideals cannot feed and clothe a child in the moment. Maybe we should have fucked for our needs, as our mother suggested to us when we were ten and thirteen. As it was, if we could get our hands on two dollars per day, we could avail ourselves of three hotdogs for a dollar and a big cup soda for another dollar. If we couldn't, we had to shoplift or starve. We tried not to steal though, because kiddie jail is even worse than adult jail. The adults in our lives, including school officials and social workers, were telling us our 'behavior problems' were all our fault. Maybe we should have just paused our needs until you could create the perfect utopia for us.
