Sekeres: The Canucks are exploring the possibility of exposing Alex Biega as a forward, not a defenceman, for the expansion draft. It's why he's likely to play some RW, ahead of healthy options like Joe LaBate, tonight and perhaps in some of the remaining 11 games.

Biega can be a first line rw on most teams. Hopefully vegas takes him, then trades him to the penguins. And the penguins run a top like of crosby, sheary, biega. Biega pots 35-40 in reg season. Then scores 19 pts(8 goals, 11 apples) through 16 games as the pens sweep their way to the cup. The reason they're able to sweep every series? Biega and crosby form the most dynamic pair in the league, both getting nominated for the selke(sid eventually winning). Biega then garners a boat load of FA offers, due to pens salary cap troubles. Eventually signing with the florida panthers. Biega, huberdeau and barkov go on to form one of the most iconic lines in panthers history. Dubbed the "Sunrise Line" due to the panthers location, as well as the lines production being a guarantee(as is the sun rising). Biega goes on to play until 42, making him the 2nd oldest player to play in a panthers uniform. Upon retirement, he is inducted as the first member of the panthers ring of honour. What a career...and all because willie played him as a forward. Though post NHL life was not kind to alex. He ran into drinking and drug problems, not being able to cope with the fact that he would never play in the NHL again. He went through 2 divorces and drowned his first born(age 11) because he reminded him of patrick maroon(maroon becomes a fierce rival of biegas later on in his career). Biega is sentenced to 55 years in prison(judge thought it would be fun to base his prison sentence off his jersey number). Biega dies in prison, 25 years into his sentence at age 67. Cause of death: was bitten in the neck by a bulldog. Ironic eh?

RIP Alex Biega: 1988-some date in the future
