Okay I'll bite. The idea that him committing a misdemeanor is relevant to self defense is silly. Nobody knew he was underage and it doesn't change the situation. He should be found guilty of the misdemeanor, but its just that, a misdemeanor. Previous court cases have shown that being unlawful doesn't necessarily rule out self defense. I can cut someone off in traffic while speeding and if they attack me I can still defend myself with a firearm legally.

The specific part that matters is video. The first guy throws something at the kid and starts chasing him down. The kid fires in self defense. Later on when he's trying to get away from the mob someone charges at him and attacks him with a skateboard. The kid fires in self defense. A man impersonating a paramedic then runs at him and draws a handgun on him. The kid fires in self defense. At the end of the day, no matter what happened to get there, the kid fires in self defense and thus is justified. Thats the part that matters.
