Senator Warren has a question for the GOP- "I come to the Senate floor today to ask my Republican colleagues a question,” she began. “Do you have any idea what year it is? Did you fall down, hit your head, and think you woke up in the 1950s? Or the 1890s? Should we call for a doctor?”

But the funds are used for activities such as soliciting those donations, and for paying salaries of abortion providers who may not be able to take the job without the government support. The activities of the organization are all budgeted according to the total availability of funds.

It is simply accounting procedures to say this dollar is specifically for this, and that dollar is specifically for that. And the entire accounting profession is about making the money show what you want. If it came down to not enough donations to cover the abortions they would simply move things around. Abortion supplies account moves a balance to office supplies account. Abortion advertising account get moved to a general advertising account. They wouldn't just say, we're stopping abortions for the quarter.

You have an issue that has legitimate and valid concerns on both sides. And as the law stands those funds shouldn't go to abortion. If the government pulled their funding of PP it would not simply take away from other services without affecting abortion. It would reduce all organizational activities including abortion.

That pretty strongly demonstrates that government funding is going towards abortion, which again is illegal, and some think that clever accounting shouldn't be an excuse for a violation of the law. If there is disagreement on the law, work on overturning it, don't just work on loopholes to avoid complying with the law.

I don't expect you to agree, but just because people have differing opinions doesn't make them illegitimate. I'm not saying there aren't illegitimate ideas, but no one here is saying "down with women's rights", they are saying "let's not allow people to destroy innocent human life". I think it's obvious that is a valid viewpoint regardless of where you stand on the moment a life is considered valid.
