I am crafting responses for a job interview.
A: At my last remote job, I had to work independently for most of the time. My work was very niche, and the lack of a good support network made my job even harder. Since I answered only to the director, he was the only one who knows how my tasks should be performed. As such, I frequently had to bring up issues or challenges with him personally, but his availability was limited due to his workload.
I took it upon myself to contact some of the other members of the team. Even though they didn’t know how my specific work was to be performed, I scheduled team calls with them to ask them about conceptual questions relating to my work. This has helped me improve my understanding and led me to ask my supervisor better questions when he was available.
From this experience, I would make use of all the available resources that I had to confront problems I would face at work.
