I'd had a cursory and passing familiarity with John Naughton's artistic works before now. What a curious cat !...isn't the hidden essence of his art the idolatry of nation state ?

The worship of the USA as if it were God's own creation ? (compare with "Israel" or "The Church").

I am not an American, and if you permit my licence to understand Revelation as in part "the exercise of divine hyperbole", then isn't the USA closer to the Beast of Revelation, than say The Lamb (and His flock)

And isn't the same worship of freedom to say and think in a manner divergent from God's ordinances, isn't the medium of expression which is, today, the internet, isn't that akin to the the image of the beast?
