Still not sure how I feel at the moment about the club. I said in conversation late Saturday afternoon that it had been impressive watching that win, but it wasn't massively exciting or sexy. Just impressive. It was a feeling I've not associated with Arsenal... well... ever. We've been both impressive and exciting before. We've been sexy and lost. But I've never watched us play and just thought "well... there it is."

Combined with some of the identity changes, a couple of our deals, the whole Emi thing. There's something very un-Arsenal-like about this current Arsenal. I don't say that as a bad thing. Ruthlessness has been missing from the setup for ages.

I still feel the Emi business creates a new headache and all feels like a bit of a waste, spending 10 years developing a player to flog them off the moment you think there's a bit of money there. On sentimental reasons too. And this does now mean we need to find an extra outgoing body if we're bringing in another non-home grown player, and want to keep Elneny.

Funny old weekend. Feels like the club, as a football entity, is in the process of a big leap forward, and that's great. Impressive. But on a very personal level, it does feel to me like a little of the romance I've felt for decades now is being lost along the way.
