September 1st - Moving Megathread

So we were dumbasses and thought leaving some bags outside of the new place for five minutes should be fine.

Three minutes later the suitcases and bags are gone. The kicker: one bag that had some food in it- they took out the food (possible fingerprints on the plastic casing?). This wasn't looting a chair somebody threw out, this was deliberate targeted stealing.

I spent a bit time in hiding and saw some people circling the block in their cars (I got pics and license plates), slowing down occasionally checking some of the stuff. Now those people might also be "legitimate" looters making other people's thrash their fortune - but why would the same guy slow down in front of our moving spot twice - as if to check out whether or not there was some new addition.

I know my leads are flimsy at best and I'm mostly just pissed off at myself, but here's my question: Is it even worth calling the police over it - at least to report what was stolen? ln case somebody gets picked up somewhere else? Or would I just be wasting their time?

Thank you for reading.

PS: I'm German, visiting 6months, which is why I don't know the "system" well enough to know if I should report it or not
