[Serious] Anybody else kind of off put that the subreddit logo is a white male baby?

My race is not only underrepresented in media, but I can't remember the last time it was represented in ANY movie/show/game as anything but a terrorist. I've been asked by strangers in volunteering if I am going to have an "arranged marriage" that will get in the way of my career and what my "future husband would think of this." I've been told to be a nurse for the sake of having kids "on time" in the same breath that my female white co-volunteers were praised for their career choice.

Also, how do you know the baby is a male? That doesn't even make sense.

You don't get to speak me for me if your edit is implying that the only people who find this the post to be a stretch are white men, or people who just "haven't experienced much racism." As a minority woman, I am all for being cognizant of this stuff, but it's a subreddit banner and all the pics of "baby with stethoscope" on google image are white, so maybe the complaint should be with shutterstock.

I also realize I can't speak for the marginalization or offense that Black/Latinx/Native Americans feel, because it is different from my experience (and, imo, much worse). But you're asking for people's opinions, then jumping to "invalidation" over them having different views, it's not helping us either.

I get where you're coming from, but in my opinion, focusing on something that tbh seems pretty innocent and jumping at people in the comments for it distracts from the actual systematic issues in medicine and otherwise when it comes to racism and sexism. There are much more important discussions to be having and this comes off as minimizing the problems we face
