[Serious]Atheists of Reddit - Why do you feel there is no "God"?

I don't not believe, I'd say I'm more unsure, I believe in a higher power, but not the biblical form of religion that many believe in. For me personally, I see the scripture as extremely far fetched, for starters the practices talked about in the Bible are out there, so far that they've made different versions to tailor the practices to better fit today's society. Not to mention these bibles were nothing more than spoken stories passed down through the years until it was eventually written (in another language) and then translated into English, forcing mistranslations.

On top of that, I see often kind-hearted, hard working people that deserve great lives, get shafted while undeserving people succeed, that doesn't seem right to me.

Also, I don't like the idea that religious people can pick and choose what part of the Bible to believe. If religion is 100% true, how can it be changed?

Some people also believe that as long as you're practicing, you will be rewarded by going to heaven. As long as you believe in god and show that support.. by this theory someone could be born across the world, be taught and raised by the practices of another religion, they could follow that religion to a tee, but all due to the unfortunate event of them being born somewhere else, they don't get to go to heaven?

Never bashed people who are religious, I do believe in a higher power, I hope there is a god, but I just don't think it's how most perceive him/her.
