[Serious] Currently what is the greatest threat to humanity?

This is reminds of something AOC said, which she was (understandably but frustratingly) bashed for:

"If people want to really blow up one figure here or one word there, I would argue that they're missing the forest for the trees," she said. "I think that there's a lot of people more concerned about being precisely, factually, and semantically correct than about being morally right."

And you can see this in a lot of political discourse today: someone's main point is correct, but they get a single statistic wrong, and their detractors turn all the focus of the discussion on that one mistake, distracting from the problem at hand. When hearing that original comment ("actually it's the top 200, not the top 100") all I can think is "okay, cool. That's still horrible and we should still be doing something to fix this."
