[Serious]Doxer's of reddit, whats some stuff we shouldn't be posting to prevent us from being stalked?

Hello,

I'm not a professional doxxer or something like that, but I've worked for a lot of people, who wanted some specific information about people, I also found a couple of disappeared, who scammed my "customers" and left either the state or their home.

I also have a good insight into the german fraud-scene and was a part of a group, who blackmailed and threatened people with informations we did collect. Not gonna use a throwaway here, because this shit happened many years ago and I'm now working for the "good ones".

  • Don't post anything with the same nick name on different websites or sites like Steam, Origin and Co.

That's the first and best way, when you want to collect some (basic)-information about your target person.

Many people, especially girls around 12 - 25 year, love to use the same nickname on sites like Instagram, tumblr, GetButter or Ask.fm (actually more in Germany), where they also posting their Facebook-Profile or Realname in the Bio (Profile-Info).

  • Make sure to check and change your privacy-settings

When I'm looking for people on Facebook, almost 90% of the profiles are public.

I have access to most of their photos, videos, postings on their pinwall, mobile phone-number, notes and and and...

FFS, just take 5 Minutes and check and also change the privacy-settings of your facebook-profile and everything else.

There are thousands of Tutorials and Support-Sites, who can help you with this thing and trust me, you won't regret it.

  • Don't click every link and every ad you will receive in the internet

Every step you will make in the internet is traceable and if you keep clicking on every link and ad on your smartphone, tablet, browser, mailbox, someday your system is infected and you're in a Botnet or RAT (RemoteAdminTool).

Install an Antivirus, update your programs, drivers and just don't be naive, otherwise some creepy guy will screencap your desktop and your webcam.

  • Be careful when you're posting Pictures on the internet

EXIF is a pretty common but scary thing when it comes to analyze picture on several platforms like instagram, GetButter, Tumblr and Co.

EXIF contains every information about your Camera (and your Smartphone) and important things like GPS (Latitude, Logitute), date stamp etc.pp.

Here's a good article about EXIF and how you can get of this bullshit.

In the worst case, you can analyze the EXIF, lookup in Google Earth/Maps and get the address of your Victim.

Also, don't upload every picture, otherwise you'll have more creepy followers than you'd expect.

  • Use Fake-Names and Fake-Information

Don't use or show your real name in the internet, also don't post any private information about you.

First: Nobody really cares about that

Second: Doxxer always looking for every single piece information they can get, what do you eat, who is your friend, what do your wear, everything.

Use Fake-Information when you register somewhere, don't use your real age, and when someone forces you to post some private infos just like bank-numbers, pass or something else, there are many sites, where you can generate fake-personas and information.

  • Be careful what do you share and which people you're gonna share those information

Just a simple advice, don't add every person on Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and co.

More than 85% of the adds you'll receive are from creepy people all over the internet, who are just dumping your pictures and information, to collect them in an archive and (in the worst case) to blackmail you.

Only add your friends and people you're really trust!

Hmm yeah, that's all I write about that, it's pretty late and I'm going to sleep now.

Will probably edit my post, when I wake up in a couple of hours, if you have any questions, just ask.
