So I was stupid and didn't sign up for step 2 early enough (school deadline in september or something). Shit myself when I realized my mistake. Used https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/check4change/ and opened up every single page on the usmle website, highlighted the calendar and set the refresh rate to 5 seconds. Then sat at my computer until a page blinked (plays david bowie's changes) and then scrambled to sign up for it. Only took 3 hours but there might be less shuffling around now unfortunately. You could always try that first to save 200 dollars but honestly that's a drop in the bucket and maybe not worth the stress..
