[Serious]Females in military, how common is sexual harassment?

A lot of the replies sound like people who were in the military several years ago. After that whole MTI scandal things sound like they've changed a lot from what I see today. This is just from my personal experience obviously. I can't speak for any of the other branches but you are briefed all the time on sexual harassment in the Air Force. Several times times in basic training. Several times in tech school. And at least once a year when you get to your first duty station. Each time you're briefed it could be short (1 hour) or it could be long (4 hour class). In tech school (training for your job) you're required to carry a card with a sexual harassment hotline. You can get written up, paperwork, etc. if you don't have this card on you. In the operational Air Force you of course still have access to this hotline. You can talk to chaplains that legally have to be 100% confidential about anything you tell them. When you're in basic there is a phone you can access at any time to call hotlines for harassment. If something were to happen with an MTI or someone else you can request to talk to someone without them knowing. All the people I work with would get pissed off and confront someone if needed if they were getting creepy with someone we knew or if we saw a situation. If you see sexual harassment and don't report you are just as guilty as far as the legal system is concerned. People I know personally have gotten an article 15 for being accused of looking at someone sexually (looking them up and down or whatever). So yes it was common before and still happens like anywhere else I can tell you from my experience it is not tolerated at all any more.
