[Serious]Former teens who went to wilderness camps, therapeutic boarding schools and other "troubled teen" programs, what were your experiences?

I’m a successful adult now no thanks to discovery academy and redcliff ascent. I am a trauma-informed trained social worker. These programs are not regulated, they are not trauma-informed, the staff are not trained, and they are neglectful and abusive. I’ve seen kids removed from homes for much, much less than what we went through. My relationship with my parents is irreparably damaged, 13 years on. The morning they had me kidnapped was the morning I was thrown into adulthood, and I didn’t find a stable home again until I had a BA, moved states, and started my career at 24. Due to the irresponsible exploitative actions of these programs, I was also put in a horrible safety position at age 18 and got trafficked thanks to their “help.” These places should be shut down
