[Serious] I hate to mention it but there is something on my European mind. I want to know if I'm too old for Shōnen Manga.

Thank you for your response.

"adult's shouldn't read shounen manga." - that is meant in a conservative way, isn't it? Something along the lines of "a grown-up shouldn't play paintball in his free-time" and therefore what the general population says or what is 'expected of them'.

I agree, every artist in this world should receive praise for what they do. You did not say that I claimed any of that but I'm still gonna go ahead and say that I take the things I get to know from all over the world into account and use/enjoy what I like (music, movies, cartoons, tv shows, books, games). Just because I appreciate Manga for what it is doesn't mean that I neglect the rest of these things as they are equally important to me, sometimes more sometimes less. In all honesty, I never should have mentioned that I used to dive into Manga when I was 14 years old. It kinda came out wrong even if that was 13 years ago. I'll say it over and over, I love the simplicity of Manga Art as a Comic medium and I have respect for every Mangaka out there, the writing, the producing, the deadlines - it's impressive and unique in the whole world. But this has only to do with Anime and Manga, I am not interested in anything else in that regard.

That's an interesting thought. The old disney movies from 1960-1995~ is something I would show to my own children. It's something I know I enjoyed as a movie experience when I was little. But I can't compare a 1,5hours-movie to an on-going and always-developing Manga story that not just involves friendship and love but also death, gore and other ingredients. Europe is Comic and TVwise very Mickey Mousy and therefore when we got fed Manga it still kinda clashes with our own culture as it's less peaceful than what we were able to watch on TV.
