Shooting at a movie theater just north of Houston, Texas back in 2010 or 2011. Was buying movie tickets with some friends out front when someone rolled up to the back end of the parking lot and dumped about 2 clips worth of bullets into the front of the theater and into several cars (including mine).

The first bullet, or maybe the second, went in through the ticket booth window in front of my face. 4 inches above my head. I still remember how the impact sound of bullets on the brick wall in front of me seemed so much louder than the sound of the gunfire itself. I immediately dropped to the ground and bolted to the closest door while trying to stay as low as possible. In the front lobby of the theater is a long full service bar. I think it was made of granite. I hid behind this until it was all over.

Somehow, no one was shot or had more than minor injuries from shattered glass or from tripping while running.

Apart from myself, the closest any one else came were two employees hiding behind a wall. I remember looking out from behind the bar and seeing the powder puffs of drywall flyout from the impact of incoming bullets right next to the 2 women.

Scary as fuck experience. Had that bullet hole in my front passenger door up until I traded it in for a new car just last year.

Pro tip. Don't hide behind drywall while hiding from a barrage of bullets.
