[Serious] Men, what's something that would surprise women about life as a man?

I'm a 30 year old male who has only had one relationship, it was abusive and in my early 20s. This isn't a post about what it did to me but here are my two most memorably painful reactions to it:

I once posted about being in an abusive relationship on an anonymous app and got a message from a guy hitting on me. I told him I was also a guy and his response was "Oh, I thought you were the one getting abused".

I met a woman who seemed absolutely perfect for me and we got along flawlessly, two months in to the relationship she was telling me how great I was and asking why I was single. I told her that I had only been in one relationship and I was abused and it kind of fucked with me. She broke up with me the next day saying she couldn't be with a guy who would "let" a woman abuse him. Her perception of a man being abused in a relationship was just the woman yelling at him sometimes and the man being "too much of a pussy to yell back", and said that she would yell sometimes and I wouldn't be able to handle it. I asked her if she thought I was spineless and she said yes.

I'm not really looking for help getting over it - I'm doing fine and dating, just waiting for the right one :)
