[Serious] Nate Parker Addresses College Rape Trial (and it's creepier)

Instead of what he said, here's what he should have said:

Many years ago, when I was a young, dumb kid, I engaged in what I thought was consensual group sex while all parties were intoxicated. Later, I was accused of rape and handled it very poorly, as you might expect a young person in fear of losing his future would. I was acquitted of the crime and maintain that the sex was consensual. However, my short-sighted decision that night was one that has left an irrevocable legacy of pain and shame that affects each of us to this day. I read the transcripts of my own remarks and was disgusted.

Today, I am a husband and a father. And, fortunately, time and age have allowed me to become, I hope, wiser and more aware of how my words and actions affect others. I would never want my children in a similar situation. I am grateful that the conversation about sexual assault has received greater attention and aim to teach my children to respect each person's dignity and autonomy.

I expect that my integrity will continue to be questioned. Sadly, no one involved can escape that. All that I can hope is that my words and actions will continue to show you who I am.

What do you think?
