[Serious] Open play, Private group, Solo. What's your dig?

Well I play Open always, even traded in shieldless ships from time time. I do have a thorough understanding and experience with the game though and so can avoid losses. Last time I got killed by a player was when I was doing some PvP, my wing were getting hammered hi waked, and I decided to Rambo the remaining two. Would have killed them but for the sneaky ram which took my shields down.

Are the random encounters still worth potentially millions for a rebuy?

Without any challenge or jeopardy, and the game has zero for me without other players, how can we feel like we have accomplished anything? Goals and achievements only mean something when getting there involves a challenge and in EDs case, jeopardy.

There are times when choosing the easy way is tempting. For example, a while ago I'd been grinding my ass off re Engineers and had a load of modular terminals which were a pain to get. Could have switched modes and gone solo but chose not to.

What do you think of griefing - fair play? or otherwise?

Griefing is a trigger word for me, grief is something you never experience in a computer game, ever, period. Ganking would be a better term. Hey, its not like we can't move for hours upon end is it?

Ultimately one becomes a better player if they learn to adapt to a situation. If you are having such a hard time, why not find some friends and have them escort you? You dont have to do that CG, there are lots of places to make credits in game.
